Description

Hello; It's me again, colorin' with mah markers at the kitchen table after the kids are in bed.

:iconarok318: let me color her Starscream lineart, which can be found here: [link] She also colored it herself, most spiffily, here: [link] (Thanks a million, pal. I really appreciate you letting me work on your pic!) Everybody, Go Check Out Her Gallery!!!!!!!!! I bow before her lineart as I bow to very few others, especially (plugs shamelessly) This One: [link] I truly don't know if I can handle that much awesome. Anyway, Keep Up The Good Work, Saskia!!!!!

Onward...
So yeah. This is a showcase of the limitations of marker tips... even "fine point" ones. I'm sort of content with the way it turned out, but not excited. Which is too bad, because I like the "Look At What I Managed This Time, Guys!!:D" feeling. Oh well. My printer will only do 8.5 x 11 inch paper, so although I printed dear Scream-o as large as I was able, there were still a whole lot of tiny niggledy bits that I hashed no matter how careful I was (*cough* Decepticon symbols *cough*).

I wanted Starscream to have kind of the same feel as the Armada Megatron I colored a while ago [link] I tried to do the same anime-ish swaths of highlight. I don't feel that they were quite as successful this time, but oh well. I chose a blue background, partly because I wanted to show how Starscream seems usually to feel somewhat desolate, so I wanted to stay away from anything green or living. But I also wanted him to work well color-wise with Meggsie. So I did a blue background to set against Megs's orange flames. It's supposed to sorta look like rocks and a cliff on the moon... yeah. I'll just keep on workin' on those background drawin' "skills," then, shall I?

I like Armada Starscream, and I won't deny it. He and Megs made the series worth watching. He's emo, but he's cool, too. He reminds me of the character Brian de Bois Guilbert in the book Ivanhoe... (OK, the 6-hour A&E movie of Ivanhoe; I must confess I have not yet actually read the book. Sorry, Chromia!) Anyway - I'm a sucker for the bad guy with some personal honor who redeems himself in the end...

Hope you guys like!

Colored on spiffy thick Bristol paper with Prismacolor markers... and a few unknown brand ones that look really crappy in comparison, but are not as crappy as Crayola.........

Starscream belongs to Hasbro, who keep him locked up in a cage and charge fangirls exorbitant amounts of money to look through the bars at him and offer their commiseration...
